Woman Arrested for DUI on the Way to DUI Court Appearance

Imagine getting busted for DUI on your way to a court appearance for a previous DUI. That was 25-year-old Thomasine Harjo's reality last week after she drove straight through police tape at the scene of a fatal accident, nearly striking an officer. After police detected alcohol on her breath, Harjo explained that she couldn't be arrested for DUI because she had to appear in court—for DUI.

It didn't work. Harjo was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without a valid driver's license and obstruction of justice.
