For those who were unable to make it out to the Family Style Food Festival, a few lucky viewers tuned into a live NTWRK episode for a chance to cop one of the exclusive and coveted Toyota GRIP hoodies. However, unlike at Family Style, this drop featured a pièce de résistance––an extremely limited edition 1-of-1 letterman-style jacket.
The jacket, crafted with melton wool and leather sleeves, featured premium race-inspired patchwork and embroidery to commemorate the collaboration between Toyota, Abakada and Complex.
Toyota’s award-winning anime series, GRIP, is back with a vengeance.
GRIP Season 2 delivers even more high-octane action, heart-pounding drama, and stunning visuals. The all-new second season continues to explore themes of freedom, rebellion, and the thrill of driving, all set against a backdrop of a dystopian future.
At the heart of Season 2 is the fierce and determined female lead Linh Lam, who is not just skilled behind the wheel but is also breaking boundaries and leading the charge against Dr. Synth in a battle for driving supremacy. Linh’s character is a breath of fresh air, offering a new perspective on the series and empowering viewers with her strength and resilience.
The storyline of the second season picks up where the first season left off, with Dr. Synth’s reign of terror continuing. The GRIP team, now led by Linh, faces their toughest challenge yet: defeating the advanced machine-driven race car, the SynthSupreme. The stakes are higher than ever, and the fate of the city depends on their success.
Toyota Teams Up With Japanese Girl Group—Atarashii Gakko!
One of the highlights of Season 2 is the introduction of the enigmatic and rebellious Japanese girl group, Atarashii Gakko! Their unique blend of pop, punk, and electronic music perfectly complements the themes of GRIP. Additionally, their energetic performances and rebellious attitude align with the spirit of the series, making them the perfect musical collaborator.
Toyota Made a Pit Stop at This Year’s Family Style Food Festival With An Exclusive First-Look at GRIP Season 2!
Family Style Food Festival-goers were treated to two exclusive screenings of GRIP Season 2, which was an unforgettable experience. The event was a huge success, with fans lining up to stock up on some Asian-inspired snacks while catching a first glimpse of the new season.
Following the screening, some lucky members in the audience went home with a limited-edition Toyota GRIP hoodie, designed by Abakada, an AAPI-founded streetwear brand founded in Chicago, that showcases Filipino-American culture through various graphics and symbols while also maintaining a minimal aesthetic.
The founders have stated that it is their resilient attitude that plays a big part in their accomplishments—a theme that also rings true for the hero characters in the anime series—which is what makes Abakada the perfect brand for this collaboration; GRIP isn't your average anime.
Sure, it features adrenaline-fueled races and stunning visuals showcasing Toyota's powerhouse GR vehicle lineup—the GR Supra, GR Corolla and GR86—but what truly sets it apart is the narrative. This isn't just about showcasing cool cars; it's a story about defying control, celebrating human passion, and the joy of driving.
Whether you’re a fan of anime, cars, or simply looking for a thrilling new series to watch, GRIP Season 2 is a must-see. With its captivating storyline, stunning visuals, and incredible soundtrack—it’s sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
All episodes of Season 1 and Season 2 are now available to watch on www.toyota.com/GRIP.
