Will Smith has once again shown regret for feuding with his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star Janet Hubert.

In a new episode of Vice’s Black Comedy in America, Smith spoke about his contentious relationship with the actress who portrayed Vivian Banks during the show’s first three seasons. According to Smith, he made the mistake of misjudging Hubert, which led to their friction.

"I made a horrible error and misjudged her value, power, and beauty in the show," Smith said to host Chris Spencer. "I horribly underestimated what she was for me at that point in my life."

Hubert was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid after the third season, and Smith later made remarks claiming Hubert was trying to take over the show, among other criticisms. However, the two reconciled in 2020 when the cast of Fresh Prince reunited for an HBO Max special that celebrated the show's 30th anniversary.

During the special, Smith and Hubert had a heartfelt moment where they reflected on their past tension and the impact it had on their relationship. Since then, the two have maintained a positive connection. Since then, the two have maintained a positive connection. Hubert explained during an interview with People in 2021 that everything is all good and they regularly communicate with one another.

"We text each other back and forth all the time," Hubert explained. "I meant it with all my heart when I hugged him, because I saw that little boy, that little 21-year-old boy. Had we had an opportunity to talk back then, I think this would have never happened."
