Derek Hough and Wife Hayley Erbert Expecting First Baby Together

Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert announced via a sweet Instagram post that they are expecting their first baby together.

The pair tied the knot two years ago after seven years of dating. The Dancing with the Stars alum, 38, and his wife, 30, shared the exciting news earlier this morning, Tuesday, July 22.

In the video, Hough walks toward Erbert with an expansive valley behind them. They embrace lovingly, before Erbert reveals ultrasound images from her husband’s back. The video continues as the two share a kiss and hold on to each other with the sunlight shining through behind them.

“We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️,” they wrote in the collaborative Instagram post.

Friends and fans rushed to the comment section to share their congratulations.

Jennifer Love Hewitt wrote, “Omg! Omg! This is amazing!”

Jenna Dewan wrote, “Awwwwww congratulations to you both!!!!! So exciting!!!!”

The two had been planning to expand their family, Hough told E! News in September 2024. “We definitely want to have a family eventually. We’ll see what’s in the cards, what’s on the horizon. Little dancing children running around.”

In February 2023, Erbert revealed that she and Hough had not been in a rush to have children until they met fellow dancers Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson’s baby, which sped up the process for them. “That was when it was kinda like, ‘Should we get on this now?’” Erbert shared with Entertainment Tonight.

Hough and Erbert married in Monterey County, California, in August 2023 after becoming engaged in June 2022. They originally met when Erbert was hired to be a dancer on his and his sister Julianne Hough's Move Live tour.

The dancing duo can be seen on their social media pages making jokes with each other, participating in online challenges, and doing a whole lot of dancing together.
