Isla Fisher Fires Back With Instagram Zinger After Finalizing Divorce
Just weeks after finalizing her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen, Isla Fisher took to Instagram with a post that has fans talking.
Just weeks after the announcement of her divorce from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, actress Isla Fisher took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, July 15, to share a savage take on how she currently feels about marriage.
“For all those men who say, ‘Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?’ Here’s an update for you,” the social media post read.
"Nowadays, 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig, just to get a little sausage."
The internet had mixed reactions, with some commenters relating to the sentiment.
"Yep, how I wish that I had a life do over…" said one.
"I never understood them as a couple. Good for her!" another commenter said on Reddit.
"She's not wrong," chimed in a third.
Other fans didn't feel that the quote was that much of a dig.
"It goes both ways, honestly," said someone on X (formerly Twitter).
"That quote has been around for ages, she didn't make it up," reads another comment, with someone else replying, "Did she say she did? No. Let her have her fun!"
The Wedding Crashers actress and Borat comedian had kept much of their relationship private over the years. The two announced that they would be divorcing via social media in April 2024, with another announcement this June stating that their divorce was finalized.
In an interview with The Sunday Times earlier this year, Fisher stated that her divorce from Cohen was "The most difficult thing that I’ve been through...I never imagined my family being separated."
Fisher and Cohen first crossed paths at a party in 2002 and spent over two decades as a couple, including 13 years of marriage. They share three children together that they have chosen to keep out of the spotlight.
