Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo got the crowd buzzing when they showed up on Coldplay’s kiss cam at a Miami concert.

Messi, 38, and Roccuzzo, 37, attended the band's show at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, July 27. It didn't take long for the infamous kiss cam to locate the Inter Miami player and his wife in the stands. When the camera panned to their VIP suite, Messi smiled and waved, with his wife of 8 years standing beside him.

The crowd erupted into chants of “Messi! Messi!” as Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin called him “the number one sportsperson of all time."

"Thanks for coming today to see our band play," said Martin.

Roccuzzo shared a photo on Instagram of herself and Messi attending the concert.

"At least someone went with their own wife. Good," read one comment on her post, gaining almost 56,000 likes.

A Lionel Messi fan account also commented, saying, "Some couples doesn’t have to hide their love."

"Hes with his wife, he's safe," a third commenter said.

All three comments referenced a recent Coldplay kiss cam controversy, nicknamed “ColdplayGate." The kiss cam moment from Messi and his wife stood in stark contrast to the prior viral incident in Boston on July 16, when Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Astronomer HR executive Kristin Cabot were awkwardly caught on the kiss cam. The two quickly became a meme, and Byron later resigned from his position.

Coldplay's Miami concert marks the last US date for the band on this tour, as they return to their native England in August before wrapping up the Music of the Spheres tour on September 8.
