Livvy Dunne Rejected from Buying Babe Ruth’s Former NYC Apartment, Shares Update
The LSU gymnast opened up about losing her bid on the historic $1.59M apartment.
Sports Illustrated model and TikTok star Livvy Dunne is jumping back into her apartment hunt in NYC after reportedly being blocked from buying baseball legend Babe Ruth's former home.
On Sunday, July 27, the former LSU gymnast posted a TikTok of herself skipping on the sidewalk in New York City.
“What the nyc realtor’s hear when I’m back in nyc looking for an apartment,” wrote Dunne, giving fans an update that she hasn't given up on real estate in the Big Apple. She captioned the video, "It isn't Babe Ruth's apartment but it'll do."
This update from Dunne, 22, comes a few weeks after being rejected from buying the apartment formerly belonging to Babe Ruth. Dunne had made an all-cash offer of $1.6 million for the property at 345 West 88th Street, and was expected to receive the keys that week. Instead, she revealed that the co-op board denied her.
"I'm so upset," she explained in a July 8 video, outlining her plans for buying her first property. "The gag was it was Babe Ruth's apartment. So naturally, I'm telling everybody, I'm excited."
She continued to say that she even brought her Pirates pitcher boyfriend, Paul Skenes, to see the property. "The realtor was so confident, Paul and I went, I got an interior designer ‘cause I didn’t want to bring my college furniture to Babe Ruth’s apartment. That would be, like, criminal.”
Dunne then explained that the co-op board denied her, saying, "Pretty much the people in the building voted to not have me live there, which is fine.”
Fans of the content creator expressed sympathy for Dunne losing out on the apartment owned by the Yankee legend. Even former Playboy model Holly Madison commented with, “You deserve Babe Ruth’s apartment!!!!!!!!!!”
For now, it seems that Dunne is still keeping her sights set on finding the perfect place to call home.
