Jeff Bezos' June wedding to Lauren Sánchez made worldwide headlines as celebrities and influencers flocked to Venice, Italy for the affair.

Now, the 61-year-old Amazon founder’s nuptials are making headlines for a different reason.

Mariah Carey was spotted in Malibu over the Fourth of July weekend when paparazzi approached her with a few casual questions.

In a video shared via TikTok on Monday, July 7, someone off-camera asked the 56-year-old award-winning artist, “What do you think about Jeff Bezos’ wedding?”

Without skipping a beat, Carey replied, "I wasn't there."

The individual then asked if she was invited, to which she responded, "Oh, don't turn this into that," quickly shutting down the opportunity for any drama surrounding the billionaire's big day.

This latest quip from the music icon joins a long list of quotes fans have dubbed “Mariah-isms.” In 2003, Carey was asked about fellow singer Jennifer Lopez. “I don’t know her,” she replied — a moment that quickly went viral, became a meme, and even inspired its own Wikipedia page.

Carey’s recent reaction to being asked about Bezos’ wedding has fans relating to the “Songbird Supreme.” Much of the conversation surrounding the billionaire couple’s nuptials sparked public commentary about wealth inequality, with some viewers pointing to the extravagant event as a reminder of growing financial divides.

Fans praised Carey for her casual attitude surrounding the affair.

"She's always so diplomatic," one fan wrote. "People think she's giving low-key attitude but she's just being honest and straightforward."

Other replies from fans included words such as "queen" and "icon," with mentions of using her "I wasn't there" quote in their own lives.
