G2, one of the world’s biggest names in the esports scene, broke new ground this month by becoming the first team to send its team jersey into space.

Aiming to ‘rise above the competition’—namely their rival teams at this summer’s Esports World Cup—they propelled a limited edition jersey up into the earth’s atmosphere to spend an hour in space at temperatures as low as -65*C, before hurtling back to earth at speeds of over 320km/h. Fans will be able to win the unique shirt via an exclusive G2 competition to be held during the EWC.

Now in their 10th year, as well as boasting a fierce roster and a highly successful competitive track record across a whole slew of titles, plus a worldwide fanbase of over 40 million, G2 are increasingly known for their innovative moves as an all round cultural force.

Earning a reputation as ‘the Real Madrid of Esports’, G2 are also pioneers in the women's esports industry, they've built their own in-house media studio 62, carried out innovative brand hookups with the likes of Ralph Lauren and Red Bull, and are the first esports team to field an IRL football team—in the German division of Gerard Pique’s Kings League.

Fresh off the back of raising a seven-figure Series B funding round, the team is keen to keep their 10th anniversary year activities and celebrations rolling through the rest of 2025, so look out for upcoming exclusive fan events, exciting merch collabs, fresh content drops and more.
