50 Cent 'Scared' to Watch Ice Cube-Starring 'War of the Worlds' Amid Bad Reviews: 'How You Get a 0?'
50 Cent goes the 50 Cent route when reacting to a universally panned Ice Cube movie.
If you were reading this article by yours truly and wondering, perhaps aloud, when 50 Cent would chime in, then I have some very good news.
He has spoken.
Over on Instagram, long given the distinction of 50's platform of choice when it comes to off-the-cuff commentary on news stories big and small and everything in between, the Get Rich or Die Tryin' artist gave his thoughts on the decidedly ill-received War of the Worlds adaptation starring Ice Cube and Eva Longoria.
“How you get a 0 percent rating,” 50 wrote when sharing screenshots of coverage of the 2025 H.G. Wells adaptation’s Tomatometer score, which remains at zero as of this writing. “Nah somebody mad at cube. Now I’m scared to watch it LOL.”
As is typically the case with 50 updates of this variety, he also tucked in a mention of one of his many ventures, this time giving the attention to his 50 Cent Action free live TV channel in partnership with Lionsgate.
It wasn’t immediately clear why 50 neglected to include a screenshot of Complex’s own WOTW coverage, which far surpassed similarly approached pieces from competing publications.
Complex has not reached out to 50's reps for clarity on that, though we almost did.
50, pictured up top alongside Cube at a BIG3 game in Las Vegas circa 2017, has endured his own critical misfires as an actor. 2008’s Righteous Kill with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, for example, received largely negative reviews from critics, as did the semi-autobiographical Get Rich or Die Tryin’, named after 50’s album of the same name.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
