A24 'Marty Supreme' Trailer: Timothée Chalamet and Tyler, The Creator Link for New Josh Safdie Film
The Chalamet-led film marks director Josh Safdie’s second solo effort.
For the third year in a row, the holiday season’s cinematic offerings will be led by a much-anticipated Timothée Chalamet vehicle, this time from director Josh Safdie.
Tyler, The Creator—credited here by his birth name, Tyler Okonma—is also in the cast for Marty Supreme, as are Gwyneth Paltrow and Odessa A'zion. Moments before the long-awaited first trailer’s unveiling on Wednesday morning, Chalamet, who earlier this year bagged a well-deserved Oscar nomination for his inspired turn as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, signaled its imminent arrival by sharing a throwback photo of himself in a Superman t-shirt.
“Dream big,” he scribbled atop the pic.
This sentiment is echoed on both the official poster (see below) and in the trailer itself, which finds Chalamet’s character, Marty Mauser, on a determined and inspiring path to greatness not unlike the one the actor detailed during his SAG Awards speech back in February.
“I know we’re in a subjective business but the truth is I’m really in pursuit of greatness,” Chalamet said when accepting the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. “I know people don’t usually talk like that but I wanna be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats. I’m inspired by the greats here tonight.”
Tyler, too, has shared similarly inspiring words in recent months. In May, for example, he spoke about the importance of maintaining a certain level of delusion as an artist.
“I’m delusional,” the DON’T TAP THE GLASS artist said in a Converse-centered conversation in London, seen here. “But I knew what I wanted to do since I was legit five years old.”
A24’s Marty Supreme is in theaters Dec. 25. Up top, take the trailer plunge.
Safdie co-wrote Marty Supreme with Ronald Bronstein. The film marks Safdie's second solo effort as a director and seventh overall, with the bulk of his filmography shared with brother Benny, with whom he helmed Uncut Gems and Good Time, among others. In October, Benny will be rolling out his own new solo film The Smashing Machine, also through A24. The Mark Kerr biopic counts Dwayne Johnson in the lead, with Emily Blunt alongside him as Kerr’s former wife, Dawn Staples.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
