Charleston White is currently in custody in Texas on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

While circumstances surrounding the case remained scarce as of this writing, online jail records showed that White, whose film Wrong Address recently debuted on Tubi, was “currently in custody” at a corrections center in the Fort Worth area. A pair of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges are listed, as is a booking date of Feb. 18.

Complex has reached out to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office for comment. This story may be updated.

Last October, White was arrested on animal cruelty and aggravated assault charges, also in Tarrant County. One year prior, it was reported that White had been arrested on similar charges, again in Texas. It wasn't immediately clear whether the latest arrest was related to these prior alleged incidents. Speculation on what may have transpired was rampant on social media Wednesday, though no official statements had been made as of this writing, either from White or the arresting agency.

In a recently released interview from Terrance “Gangsta” Williams, White was asked what he would tell a young person who’s “headed down the wrong path,” prompting the comedian to speak about the impact of incarceration.

“Try to figure out what he wants to do other than going to jail. … Point it out to him,” he said, as seen below. “Then let him know once he goes to jail, then he can come back and be a better person.”

Meanwhile, on a recent episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, Gillie Da Kid was asked about White’s past comments about the shooting death of his son.

“I can’t respect n***as like that because what I know you for?” Gillie said after indicating that he had not, and would not, accept an apology from White. “When I ask you, what do you know him for? Think about it. ... You ain’t did nothing. You got on the internet at forty-something years old, a n***a that had nothing going on, and disrespected n***as that put work in.”
