Jennifer Lawrence Shoots Down Rumor of ‘Secret’ Romance With Liam Hemsworth During Miley Cyrus Relationship
Recent 'Hot Ones' guest Jennifer Lawrence addressed a rumor that gained traction after the release of Miley's "Flowers" video.
Jennifer Lawrence, whose Gene Stupnitsky-helmed comedy No Hard Feelings is currently in theaters, has directly addressed the recent chatter she was thrown into in connection with Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” video.
In the event that you’re unfamiliar, here’s a quick catch-up: The “Flowers” video, released in January, saw Miley rocking a gold dress that some fans argued was intentionally selected due to its perceived similarities to a dress Lawrence wore on the red carpet for the Hunger Games premiere way back in 2012. Both Lawrence and Hemsworth, of course, starred together in the franchise.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, specifically amid the show’s popular Plead the Fifth segment, Lawrence was asked about this by host Andy Cohen.
“Not true,” Lawrence said of any posited claims that she and Hemsworth had any sort of "secret" romantic involvement during the actor’s relationship with Cyrus. “I would love to [respond to that]. Not true. Total rumor. I mean, we all know me and Liam, like, kissed one time. It was years after they broke up so I just assumed that was, like, a coincidence.”
And that’s that.
Back in April of last year, Cyrus looked back on her marriage to Hemsworth, which ended in divorce two years prior. Following a fan proposal during her set at Lollapalooza Brazil, Cyrus wished the newly engaged couple well while acknowledging her own experience with marriage.
“I hope your marriage goes better than mine,” she said at the time. “Mine was a fucking disaster.”
As part of the press run for the aforementioned No Hard Feelings, Lawrence recently stepped into the Hot Ones ring for a particularly memorable episode of the ongoing catalog of hot questions and even hotter wings.
“I’m okay, but I’m going into this very humble,” Lawrence told Sean Evans when asked about her prior experience with spiciness.
