Kylie Jenner Panned for 'Handmaid's Tale' Costume Party
'Handmaid's Tale' returned for its season 3 earlier this month, though that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Kylie throwing a party for her friend.
Whenever life has me down, particularly when I feel like I'm at my wits' end with regards to the general possibility of a tangible future for humankind, I take solace in the fact that—at any given moment—someone of stature will do something perceived as questionable, thus inspiring a bunch of other people to start piling on the topic via tweets that ultimately land in a starkly so-so article such as this one.
Anyway, as you may or may not have heard at this juncture, a Kylie Jenner x Handmaid's Tale party is apparently something that happened over the weekend.
PerPeople, Jenner hosted the peculiarly themed party for Anastasia "Stassie" Karanikolaou at her Hidden Hills home, complete with Praise Be Vodka and Under His Eyes Tequila specialty drinks for costumed guests. Hulu's Handmaid's Tale adaptation, supposedly a favorite of Jenner's, is notable for its deeply dystopian plot point of women being forced into surrogacy.
