A verified X account associated with Lil Tay says she is in “serious condition” in the ICU, though additional information was not immediately shared.
“Please pray for Tay,” reads one post shared on Wednesday. By Thursday, the account had shared photos of a hospital setting, adding that the teen social media personality “is currently in the ICU in serious condition.” The same X account also called out a community note that had been applied to a previous tweet, noting that Tay’s health incident was “life-threatening.” The community note in question, as seen below, had attempted to call the claims into question by referencing a prior death hoax.
However, that particular tweet was later deleted without explanation.

Last August, it was purported via Tay’s IG account that both she and her brother had died.
“During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation,” the statement read, in part.
This was quickly refuted, however, with Meta later confirming that a hack had indeed occurred. Tay, meanwhile, alleged that her father was behind the hoax, also accusing him of abuse (He has denied this). She later made her first public appearance in several years, thus bringing speculation to an end.
That November, Tay spoke with EJ Dickson for Rolling Stone for an interview in which she reiterated her criticism about her father and reflected on what she desired as a longtime personal goal to achieve fame. These days, music remains Tay’s focus. In February, the Tay X account teased that new music would be coming “soon,” sharing a photo of her holding a guitar and sitting in front of a piano. “Sucker 4 Green (Money),” her most recent official release, arrived just over a year ago.
