Saturday Night Live has allegedly apologized to Aimee Lou Wood for a portrayal of her during a sketch that she found “mean.”

Wood shared on her Instagram Story what she of thought SNL star Sarah Sherman’s portrayal of her in a sketch this weekend.

“But whilst in honest mode – I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny xo (Felt righteous might delete later x)," she said.

The sketch that Wood was referring to was “The White POTUS” in which SNL stars parodied the third season of The White Lotus to make fun of President Donald Trump. Sherman had a pair of buck teeth to represent the shape of Wood’s teeth.

“Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple of weeks ago,” Wood added. “Yes, take the piss for sure—that’s what the show is about—but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”

Wood also shared a couple of messages of supporters contacting her and backing up her claims.

“I agree—everyone else in that parody was a political figure who was being mocked,” wrote one fan. “The only character who wasn’t political was Chelsea, and they were clearly just taking the piss out of your appearance/accent, which is extremely c*nty and uncalled for!”

“On a positive note, everyone is agreeing with me about it so I’m glad I said something instead of going in on myself,” Wood wrote about the “thousands of messages” she’s received in support.

The actress ended her rant against SNL by revealing that the show’s staff reached out to her. “I’ve had apologies from SNL,” she wrote.

Earlier this month, Wood revealed to GQ that she doesn’t like the viral conversations surrounding her teeth.

“It makes me really happy that it’s symbolizing rebellion and freedom, but there’s a limit,” said Wood. “The whole conversation is just about my teeth, and it makes me a bit sad because I’m not getting to talk about my work.”
