Alison Brie says that a lot of people have reached out to Dave Franco about his similarities to Luigi Mangione.

Franco and Brie spoke with The Hollywood Reporter at the Sundance Film Festival yesterday (Jan. 25). The conversation delved into Franco’s looks being similar to the alleged United Healthcare CEO shooter’s and that’s when more details about how many people have contacted the actor about potentially playing him in a film came out.

“I have never received more texts in my life about anything,” said Franco. “Anyone who has my phone number has reached out about it.”

Brie confirmed Franco’s reveal, saying that “everyone” has reached out — but he still hasn’t received an offer to play him.

Mangione, who’s currently facing murder and terrorism charges for the shooting death of UHC CEO Brian Thompson, is being held in a federal facility in New York City. He previously pleaded not guilty to the charges on Dec. 23.

At a court appearance on Dec. 10, Mangione was hit with a Super Mario Bros. reference. While at a quick extradition hearing, after it concluded, Mangione was being escorted out of the building into a waiting police vehicle when someone yelled out to him, “Hey, Luigi! It’s a me, Mario!”

In another wild twist, one of the lawyers who is representing Mangione is married to one of the lawyers who’s representing Diddy. Mangione’s lawyer, Karen Friedman-Agnifilo, is married to the attorney who represents Diddy, Marc Agnifilo.
