Amanda Seales has revealed the reason why she stopped talking to Issa Rae.

Seales, who’s made it known that her relationship with Rae isn’t good, never revealed the specific accident that led them to stop working together. In a recent video posted on her YouTube channel, Seales opened up about the life-changing moment that happened on the set of Insecure.

Seales detailed a situation on the last day of filming where she, Rae, and cast members were discussing a new show. “As we started talking about a new show, Issa started reading a review of the show to the group,” Seales explained. “We’re all listening and commenting and involved in the commentary. Everybody as a group is talking.”

According to Seales, Rae turned away from the conversation to finish reading about the show. After Seales asked Rae a question about what she was reading, Rae allegedly said to her, “Why don’t you just read it yourself?”

“That was the last day because I had taken so much fakeness and weirdness for the last five seasons,” said Seales, who then claimed that she confronted Rae. “I don’t know who the fuck you talking to, why your’e even addressing me this way.”

“That was the last day I ever spoke to her again,” Seales continued. “I’m always gonna show you respect unless you play me. She then tried to act like she was going to fight me.”

Last year, Sales appeared on Club Shay Shay and opened up about allegedly being booted from an Emmys party in 2019 because of Rae’s publicist. She alleged that Rae’s publicist had an issue with her, which led to Rae allegedly not “empowering” her as a woman.

“So I’ve never talked about this publicly because it has always been incredibly important to me to protect Issa,” said Seales. “Because I know that Issa is doing something within this business that so few people get to do. And it’s not something I desire to do. I’m not interested in getting a $100 million production deal. That’s not a life that I want for myself. But I know that her role is very important.”

Rae seemingly responded to this when she spoke to The Breakfast Club and said that she’s never going to work with “anyone who goes on a podcast and talks shit” about her again.
