A teenager has died from being sucked into a meat grinder at a frozen burrito company.

People reports that the victim was a 19-year-old sanitation employee at Tina’s Burritos food processing plant in Vernon, California when it happened on July 13. The teenager was cleaning out the meat grinder during his shift when it somehow activated and sucked him in around 9.30 p.m.

The teen reportedly shouted for help but those who responded weren’t able to turn the machine off. Authorities arrived soon after and discovered the teenager to be deceased.

The incident is currently under investigation by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health and the area’s District Attorney’s Office. Foul play isn’t currently suspected by the Vernon Police Department.
