Pete Davidson addressed his mom getting back on the dating scene during a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Joined by Lil Rel Howery, Davidson spoke about initially not being ready for his mom to begin seeing other men after the death of his father. “I was nervous because I didn't want someone to bang my mom,” he joked. “She’s never dated and it’s been like 22 or 23 years since my dad passed.”

Davidson then said that he believes she’s ready now to get back out there. “Now, I think she’d like to have a partner and someone to hang out with so I don’t have to do it so much,” he admitted.

When Drew Barrymore and Davidson began talking about being careful dating when kids are involved, Howery practically screamed “He’s in his 30s!’ in reference to Davidson being able to accept that his mom could date again. Davidson, upon hearing this, burst out into laughter.

Howery himself addressed the differences in single mothers versus single dads dating. “With dads, nobody cares about us being single,” the comedian claimed. “They think we out here living it up, having a great time.” Howery then explained that what happened, in his case, was that he was at home missing his children instead.

“Men are equally sad,” admitted Davidson after hearing Howery’s story.

Davidson also opened up about his dating life six months after he split with actress Madelyn Cline. Davidson joked about the role that he takes when he’s in a relationship. "I'm the girl, I think, whenever I'm in a relationship," Pete said." So some guys are shy and like when a lady's like, 'Hey.'"

Davidson then emphasized that loves when his partners are assertive. “Because I grew up with all ladies in the house,” he explained. “So, I act pretty feminine.”
