Whoopi Goldberg isn’t a fan of Stephen A. Smith’s critique of Serena Williamscameo at Super Bowl LIX.

Goldberg addressed Smith’s negative comments on an episode of The View that aired on Tuesday. “Why wasn’t it, ‘Damn, Serena was great’? Why is it about some ex-boyfriend she hasn’t thought of?” Goldberg asked around the 19:50-minute mark in the video above. “All you can think of is her ex-boyfriend?”

“She got a chance to do something she wanted to do, and she went and did it, and instead of saying, ‘Damn, that was kind of great,’ you’re bringing it back to some old stuff,” Goldberg continued. “Stop trying to always make it about somebody’s man.”

Williams had a cameo appearance at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime show. While performing his signature Drake diss While performing his signature Drake diss "Not Like Us," Williams, outfitted in blue Chuck Taylors, a blue tennis skirt, and a matching jacket, crip-walked as a giant middle finger to the man the song is about, who she was rumored to be involved with nearly a decade ago.

Smith gave his opinion about the cameo on First Take and made it clear that he wasn’t a fan of it. “If I’m married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his ass,” Smith said. “Cause clearly you don’t belong with me. What you worried about him for and you’re with me? Bye. Bye.”

Drake seemingly responded to Williams’ cameo with a post on his @plottttwistttttt finsta, showing him embracing Williams' former agent, Jill Smoller.

The sports professional worked with Williams for over twenty years and was clearly once on friendly terms with Drizzy.

A viral video circulated after the Super Bowl showing Drake seemingly shading his ex, Serena Williams, for linking up with his rival. The clip, where Drake talks about exes, was recorded before Kendrick’s performance, not after.
