The NYC subway welcomed what may be its youngest rider ever after a woman gave birth on the W train.

ABC 7 reports that a 25-year-old woman gave birth to a baby girl on Feb. 13 around 11:30 AM on a southbound W train. The news outlet spoke with a woman who took a video of the birth.

The woman, Bryanna Brown, revealed that people rushed over to help a woman who had fallen to the floor.

"I'm still minding my business, headphones on,” said Brown. “As we're entering 34th Street, you hear her asking 'help, help, help,' and then you hear a baby, like, start crying.”

Brown then revealed that another person was able to cut the umbilical cord with a pocket knife while other subway riders went to the conductor to stop the train and call 911 for assistance.

New York City’s Transit President Demtrius Chrichlow spoke about the birth of the child in a statement.

"This is another example of New Yorkers coming together to help each other, assisted by caring transit workers and other responders, reflecting the best of the subway community and this city," said Chrichlow. "We are thrilled that both mother and Baby W are doing well, and look forward to welcoming both of them back aboard for a lifetime of reliable-and hopefully less dramatic-rides."

Paramedics reportedly took the mother and child to a nearby hospital, where they are in good condition.
