Japan Votes on the Nation's Favourite Pokemon, and Picks a Seriously Random Choice

Pikachu didn't make the top three!

So there’s some pretty big elections happening in 2016 — the US Presidential race, the EU Referendum here in the UK — but the people of Japan have also just face a difficult decision. The Pokemon Company polled citizen on their favourite Pokemon, and received over half a million votes.

And who won? Pikachu, right?

No? Ok, maybe Squirtle then?

Not him either? Maybe a shiny Charizard?

No. It was actually Greninja.

WTF?

Yeah, it's a random choice. It's a Water/Dark-type Pokemon that first appeared in Pokemon X and Y, and is the final form of Froakie and Frogaider. How the hell it beat the O.G. classics, we don't know. It's a travesty. Bulbasaur was robbed. Pikachu didn't make the top three!
