The Nike Air Flight Huarache Returns Next Year
Nike will retro its original Air Flight Huarache colorway in 2023. The pair was originally released in 1992 and made famous by Michigan's 'Fab Five' team.
One of Nike’s most memorable basketball shoes of the 1990s is scheduled for a retro next year, according to an internal brand document viewed by Complex.
The description slates the shoe for an April 2023 release and confirms the Nike Air Flight Huarache will come in its original “White/Varsity Purple-Royal Blue-Menta” colorway. Further styles were not confirmed, but this OG colorway (style number FD0183-101) will retail for $125.
The Air Flight Huarache was originally released in 1992 and was co-designed by Tinker Hatfield and Eric Avar. It took the sock-like construction of Hatfield’s Air Huarache runner design and turned it into a hoops sneaker. On the court, it was made famous by the Michigan Wolverines’ “Fab Five” team and was also worn by NBA players like Reggie Miller, Scottie Pippen, and later, Kobe Bryant.
Previous Air Flight Huarache retros include 2003 and 2014.
