Cactus Plant Flea Market and Nike Collabs Ranked from Worst to Best
From the Flea 1 to the Vapormax, here are the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike collabs ranked from worst to best.
Cactus Plant Flea Market and Nike have produced some of the most controversial projects in the sneaker space with their playful designs and bold graphics. Despite only recently forming their partnership in 2019, the brands already have an extensive list of projects—and fans have a lot of opinions on them.
Unlike many other Nike collaborators, the Cynthia Lu-helmed brand not only reworked classic silhouettes like the Air Force 1 and the Dunk, but also introduced new silhouettes like the Flea 1 and Flea 2 sneakers. And based on early leaks and previews online, more collabs are on the way, with the Swamp Sponge Dunk set to debut later this fall.
Prior to the arrival of their upcoming project, we’re taking a look at the best Nike collaborations from Cactus Plant Flea Market and ranking them from worst to best.
12.CPFM Air Flea 2 'Black'
Year: 2023
Cactus Plant Flea Market’s style can be described in a lot of ways, but “boring” certainly isn’t one of them. The Flea 2, an original silhouette, isn’t particularly wearable—to the extent it doesn’t really even look like a shoe. We do give it points though for a rare collab that throws caution to the wind and really goes for it, but this all-black colorway is the less interesting of the two versions. —Zac Dubasik
11.CPFM Air Flea 2 'Faded Spruce'
Year: 2023
I’m not entirely sure what CPFM was trying to do with this one. I don't see a way in which this shoe is wearable in any normal situation. It's the type of sneaker that exists only to be worn at a place like ComplexCon (oh buy your tickets for that by the way, it's coming up quick) to show that you're wearing a Cactus Plant shoe. I'm sure a market for this footwear exists out there, but I certainly am not that market. It's slightly better than the Black one because it has a quick pop of color, but that’s really not saying all that much. —Ben Felderstein
10.CPFM Flea 1
Year: 2022
This is a putrid sneaker. I have no desire to wear it. But my co-host from a lifetime ago, Trinidad James, made them look cool. So i’ll give him that. He was also on the jumbotron with them. It’s hairy. People shaved them. It’s a stunt of a shoe. It has no practical application. It’s made to get attention. Give me a regular pair of Grinches. Maybe I’m the Grinch over these. Whatever. Bah humbug. —Matt Welty
9.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Force 1 Low 'Black'
Year: 2024
The “Triple Black” Air Force 1 has a hilarious reputation, and become a meme and inside joke within the sneaker community. However, when Cactus Plant Flea Market added its touch to it, it gave the sneaker just enough enough pop to be taken more seriously and be seen on plenty outfits online. Did it change the reputation of the sneaker? Absolutely not. —Douglas Jace
8.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Force 1 Low 'White'
Year: 2024
The Air More Uptempo-inspired look wasn’t new by the time the “Triple White” iteration of the CPFM x AF1 launched in 2024—it was technically able to be made in the original 2020 By You launch (albeit with white 3M trim rather than leather). But the collaborative style was even more accepted when it returned, first led with pink and green colorways before later dropping in white and black. This was the most traditional take yet, and one we hold in high regard in the history of all-white Air Force 1s. Sure, it’s tame by Cactus Plant Flea Market standards, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a strong entry into its collaborative catalog. —Zac Dubasik
7.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Blazer Mid 'Sponge By You'
Year: 2019
I think if I were to go and buy one single shoe on this list today, it would be this pair. The customizability factor really takes these things to the next level in this writer’s opinion. The new Dunks that are coming out (that actually inspired us to make this list) remind me quite a lot of this pair, and I’m really hoping those have the same Nike By You situation that these did. The Blazers seemed like a bit of a sleeper when they first came out but they really represent Cactus Plant at its core, the exposed foam, the vibrant colors, and the ability to give them your own spin. —Ben Felderstein
6.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Force 1 'Moss'
Year: 2024
There’s really not much to say for this green-colored “Moss” Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Force 1. It’s the least exciting of the newer colorways from the project, which is also indicated by its lower resale prices as compared to the other iterations. For those who still want to own a pair of the CPFM x Air Force 1 Low and don’t mind the tonal green color scheme, this is still a solid option. —Victor Deng
5.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Force 1 'Fuchsia'
Year: 2024
Aside from it being the most vibrant colorway in the lineup, the rollout for this pink-colored CPFM x Nike Air Force 1 Low also makes it one of the more interesting releases between the collaborators. Prior to any official indication of it hitting retail in 2024, Nike was seeding the sneakers to several notable individuals, and the most memorable moment was when the brand accidentally sent pairs to Big Sean that were supposed to be going to Frank Ocean. With that said, this is easily the best CPFM x Nike Air Force 1 (aside from the By You versions), even a year later. —Victor Deng
4.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Force 1 'By You'
3.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Force 1 'Swarovski - Pure Platinum'
Year: 2020
I like this sneaker because it doesn’t remind me of a CPFM sneaker. It’s the most extravagant version of a Dunk you could imagine. It’s covered in Swarovski crystals. The green ones are the ones to me. But those are pretty much impossible to own unless you’re rich. These came out in 2020, right at the height of the Dunk craze. It was right when people were going crazy with stimulus and fake digital money. It signifies an era to me. Not in the best way, but in a way. I don’t know how it would hit now. But at the time, it was a sign of opulence—a celebrity shoe of choice. It was also CPFM at its peak. The brand doesn’t resonate with me personally. But this is the one of the shoes I can point to and say it was good work, well done. —Matt Welty
2.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Vapormax
Year: 2019
Cactus Plant Flea Market’s first collaboration with Nike, the Air Vapormax, stands as one of the brand’s very best collaborations, as well as the most memorable Vapormax, too. More than any of its other sneaker collaborations, it feels the most representative of CMFM’s signature aesthetic, with features like the four-eyed smile logo, three-dimensional applied Swoosh, and puffy text. The project was originally rumored to be a Dover Street Market exclusive, however it went on to launch on SNKRS and NikeLab locations. It was, however, a women’s exclusive release, but extended sizing was available. There have been more hyped (and expensive) collabs between CPFM and Nike since, but none exemplify the partnership better than the first. —Zac Dubasik
1.Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air Force 1 'Swarovski - Spiral Sage'
Year: 2020
This Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low is one of those sneakers that us normal people don’t have. It was a friends and family version of the silver pair that came fully clad in Swarovski crystals, heat map insoles, and virtually no Cactus Plant Flea Market branding. As ridiculous as this might be to say, it’s actually one of the more wearable CPFM x Nike collabs, as it doesn’t feature any fur, oversized lettering, or exposed hardware. It's one of the biggest flex pieces in recent memory and came out of a time when Dunks were the most popular sneaker on the planet and everyone was in the house because of COVID. It is an unforgettable time in sneakers, for better or for worse, but this is one of the shoes that really stands out from that era. Even if I had the right amount of f*ck you money to afford this sneaker, I'm not sure I'd wear it, but I'd definitely buy them and admire them; they’re more of an art piece to me—and a damn good one. —Ben Felderstein
