Kai Cenat's 'Red October' Nike Yeezy 2s Fall Apart on 'Club Shay Shay'
Here's the exact moment when Cenat's 'Red October Yeezy 2s broke on the podcast.
One of a sneakerhead's worst nightmares is having their shoes deteriorate, but it’s even more heartbreaking when that happens as they're wearing them.
This exact scenario happened to streamer Kai Cenat during his appearance on Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. Cenat pulled up to the podcast in the "Red October" Nike Yeezy 2, a coveted sneaker collaboration between Kanye West and the Swoosh that released in February 2014 and currently reselling for over $10,000 on StockX.
Around the one hour and 15-minute mark of the episode, the midfoot strap on the right shoe broke off, quickly prompting Sharpe to joke that the sneakers were fake. "He got on some fake Yeezys. He got on them Peezys. They ain't no Yeezys," Sharpe said.
Cenat explained that this wasn't the first time he'd worn the sneaker, as there's also a bit of paint chipping on the midsole. Given that the shoe dropped over 10 years ago, the sneaker falling apart isn't entirely surprising. Check out the tragic moment in its entirety below.
