Dwyane Wade Paid a Visit to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School: 'I'm Inspired by All of You'

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade visited students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where a Feb. 14 mass shooting at the school claimed the lives of 17 people. The school is about a 50-minute drive from Miami.

One of the victims of the shooting, Joaquin Oliver, 17, was buried in a Wade jersey. The story shook the veteran guard.

Students and faculty posted photos and videos of Wade's visit to the school on Twitter. Wade arrived to cheers and addressed the crowd with a microphone.

"I just wanted to stop by, wanted to come to the school," Wade said. "First of all, I am so excited to be back in this city, in this state. And I just want to come here today and hopefully for a moment, for a second, bring a little of this, bring a little excitement. What you guys have been going through and seeing how resilient you guys have been has been amazing from afar. I just wanted to come and say I'm inspired by all of you."

Wade has made an effort to be a positive voice in the wake of the Florida tragedy.
