Joel Embiid Roasts 'Man Bun' Aron Baynes
Joel Embiid has no mercy on social media.
Joel Embiid may be out of the NBA playoffs, but he hasn't stopped chirping his opponents. Embiid was one of the funniest NBA players on social media before he blew up, and now, as an All-NBA favorite, he remains an incredible online resource for fans in search of entertainment.
In the fourth quarter of Monday's Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Celtics big man Aron Baynes seemed to lose track of his place on the court.
Plenty of folks got a laugh out of it—including Embiid, who quickly took aim at Baynes, whom he dubbed "man bun."
It was a clear reference to this monster jam from March.
The Celtics eliminated Embiid's Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Embiid was clearly unhappy with the series' result—he left the court without shaking the Celtics' hands, upsetting some of Boston's players.
This Boston-Philly rivalry promises to be one of the NBA's best in the coming years, as both teams are loaded with young talent. We don't know whether the 31-year-old Baynes, who's a role player, will be an integral piece of that rivalry, but Embiid all but certainly will. We're already excited to (hopefully) see these teams match up again in next year's postseason.
