Two people were shot shortly after a candlelight vigil was held for the late Khyree Jackson.

On Friday night, families and friends of the Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback gathered at Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Jackson, 24, along with friends Isaiah Hazel, 23, and Anthony Lytton, Jr., 24, were killed in a car crash last Saturday morning.

According to FOX 5 DC, shots were fired in the parking lot in front of the school with one victim being hit in the leg and another struck in the chest.

The news station reports that an adult male was taken to a local hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead. A second victim was also taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Law enforcement also told FOX 5 DC that a gun was recovered from the incident.

The Maryland State Police said in their initial report last week that an investigation for the car accident that led to the three men’s demise last week was underway. The investigators said they believed alcohol may have been “a contributing circumstance in the crash.”

"We only have initial reports which do not include the BAC (blood alcohol concentration) which has to be developed from the medical records in this case,” said the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office in a statement on Monday, per NBC 4 Washington.

“We have not yet received those yet. There is a need for more information about what exactly happened to collect sufficient evidence. An early evidentiary review has been scheduled for this week.”
