Dillon Brooks Files for Restraining Order Against Ex, Claims She Threatened to Cut Off His Fingers
He claimed that Heather Andrews, the mother of his two children, was "emotionally abusive."
Dillon Brooks, who is set to be traded from the Houston Rockets to the Phoenix Suns next month, has filed a request for a temporary restraining order against his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his two children, Heather Andrews.
Brooks made the request for a restraining order against Andrews on Wednesday (June 25), TMZ reported. The outgoing Rockets player and Andrews share two daughters, a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old.
In the filing, Brooks alleged that Andrews made violent threats against him, damaged his property, and hacked into his various social media accounts throughout their relationship. Among her violent threats, he claimed, she said she would cut off his fingers.
Brooks reporetedly said that he met Andrews during a visit to a Las Vegas nightclub in 2018 and that they began a relationship not long after. Within months of being together, she became pregnant, and hortly after that, Brooks said, the “emotionally abusive” behavior started.
Brooks alleged that she shared screenshots of their private conversations with several publications in an effort to sway public opinion against him. He also claimed that after she became pregnant with their second child, Andrews was “increasingly more aggressive and threatening.”
These threats allegedly included “various different ways that she was going to hurt me either personally, professionally, or both.”
In one of the included screenshots of their communications, Andrews allegedly wrote, “I’ll habe [sic] someone cut each one of your fucking little fingers off one by one … So you can never play basketball LOL… And actually now I understand why people are racist.”
Andrews also allegedly threatened to get someone to hurt Brooks' mother, with one message reading, “I’ll send someone after your mom bitch.” Last year, Andrews obtained a temporary restraining order against Brooks for alleged harassment and threats.
The former couple and co-parents will stand before a Los Angeles judge to present their respective cases next month.
The filing comes not long after the Phoenix Suns agreed to trade Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Brooks, Jalen Green (the No. 10 pick in this year’s NBA Draft), and five second-round picks.
