Dwyane Wade Backs LeBron James Following Stephen A. Smith Confrontation
Wade has his former teammate's back following LeBron's tense confrontation about Bronny James.
Dwyane Wade has revealed he told Stephen A. Smith he would've done the same thing if he were LeBron James.
"I love both guys," he told TMZ when asked about LeBron confronting the First Take host over his criticism of his son, Bronny James. "I had a conversation with Stephen A about it and I told him... I would have walked up on him the same way. This is all love and sports."
Following the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers game on Thursday, March 6, LeBron got into a tense confrontation with Smith, which the sports commentator later revealed was rather one-sided. "He clearly took exception to some of the things that he heard me say and he confronted me about it," he said when he first addressed the situation.
However, he's since indicated that he's "pretty damn sad" about the situation, which he "didn't anticipate." On the Gil's Arena podcast, he took a different tone. “I thought it was weak,” he said. “I thought it was some bullshit—but in the moment, I knew that I was listening to a father.” He also revealed that LeBron told him, "You gotta stop talking shit about my son."
