Rising LSU Tigers star Flau'jae Johnson is joining forces with Experian to help clear $5 million of debt for families in Louisiana.

As the company announced on Friday, March 14, Johnson will serve as a company spokesperson for Experian's five million consumer debt relief initiative, which will directly help 5,000 families in the state. In addition to her career as one of the top stars in women's college basketball—and her music—Johnson is a junior business major, making her the perfect figure to help promote financial literacy.

"You know what's bigger than basketball? Financial empowerment," Johnson said in a new commercial. "Finances are tough, and Experian is helping the next generation pursue their dreams. That's why I'm excited to announce Experian is wiping out five million of debt for families in Louisiana. ... Money isn't everything, but you need it to live a good life. The Experian app can help you save time and money, build your credit and help you gain more knowledge in finances."

In a press release, she continued, "It's hard to create a winning financial game plan when you are blocked by debt. I am excited to partner with Experian to empower families in the state and across the country so they can become financial champions of their future."

Experian launched the initiative after reports showed consumer debt is at an all-time high. "Unmanageable debt prevents consumers from achieving their goals," added Experian Consumer Services president, Dacy Yee. "We hope this debt relief and access to Experian tools will help beneficiaries in Louisiana move toward a healthier financial future."

The announcement comes just days ahead of the 2025 NCAA women's basketball tournament. Johnson, who helped her team take home the NCAA championship title in 2023, has quickly cemented herself as one of LSU's biggest assets as the team's leading scorer this season with 18.9 points per game. Despite an injury that locked her out of the SEC Tournament, she is expected to play in the NCAA tournament.
