Jaylen Brown Calls Giannis Antetokounmpo a ‘Child’ After He Fakes Out on Handshake
Brown called the Bucks star "a child" in a post-game interview.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has landed on Jaylen Brown's bad side after he elbowed the Boston Celtics player in the head and then faked him out on a handshake.
During the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics game on Sunday, November 10, Antetokounmpo and Brown playfully clashed after the former elbowed the latter in the back of his head. After Brown recovered, he got up and Antetokounmpo offered out his hand to give him a handshake. But just as Brown reached out, Antetokounmpo moved his hand back and touched his own head with a grin on his face.
When asked about the moment in a post-game interview, Brown candidly told reporters what he thought of Antetokounmpo's behavior. "Giannis is a child, I'm just focused on getting my team a win, and that's what we did tonight," he replied. Boston walked away with a 113-107 victory, despite a strong performance from Antetokounmpo, who racked up 43 points.
Last month, Giannis Antetokounmpo gave a shout out to Jaylen Brown in an interview with Complex when he was asked about who he thinks is the best player in the NBA right now.
"I feel like the best player is the guy that wins a championship, wins it all, and is the best player for his team," he shared. "So the best player in the NBA, probably, I would say Jaylen Brown. Because you cannot see your best player if you're on a team who didn't win. It doesn't matter if you got the MVP or you're all-NBA, like, if you don't make your team win you're not the best."
He was also asked for his thoughts on Complex's list of the 50 best NBA players in the league right now, on which he ranked third. He suggested that the No. 1 player should be whoever helped their team win the championship that respective year, not Nikola Jokić. Brown helped the Celtics take home an NBA Finals championship last year, which also earned him MVP status.
