Tom Brady is reportedly looking to team up with his former Patriots coach Bill Belichick again.

Tom Pelissero for the NFL Network reports that Las Vegas Raiders part-owner Tom Brady has spoken with Bill Belichick, who coached seven-time Super Bowl champion during his lengthy tenure at the New England Patriots, about taking on the head coach role for the team. Multiple teams have reached out to the highly-regarded coach to see if he would be interested in coming back to the NFL following his decision to coach the North Carolina Tar Heels football team, with whom he recently signed a five-year contract.

Raiders let go of head coach Antonio Pierce on Tuesday, Jan. 7 after a disappointing first season with the team. By contrast, Belichick helped lead the Patriots to six Super Bowl wins while Brady was on the team from 2000-2019. Brady reportedly believes that the Raiders need a coach with the level of experience Belichick boasts. His contract at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill includes a $10 million buyout, but only if he leaves the position before June 1, 2025.

While it's unclear which other teams reached out to Belichick, other teams with head coach vacancies right now also include the New York Jets, the Chicago Bears, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New Orleans Saints, and his former team, the New England Patriots. Additionally, the Dallas Cowboys have yet to line up a successor for Mike McCarthy when his contract expires on Jan. 14.

Brady became a part-owner of the Raiders in 2023 after acquiring a minority stake in the team. Aside from his role with the Raiders, he also signed a 10-year, $375 million deal to become a FOX Sports NFL analyst.
