Jacksonville Jaguars Rookie Travis Hunter’s Wife Mocked by TikTok Trolls for Crying Video

Travis Hunter, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ star rookie wide receiver and cornerback, is in the headlines again—this time because of his wife, Leanna Lenee, and a viral TikTok video that re-emerged on Tuesday, July 22.

According to The New York Post, Lenee, who married Hunter in late May, has been the target of online trolls after an emotional video of her crying resurfaced on social media.

The video, originally recorded in December 2024, shows Lenee sobbing in her bathroom, wrapped in a towel, as part of a reflective post on her personal growth. While many online commenters speculated about her marriage or a possible cheating scandal (one commenter on TikTok snarked, "the divorce is coming"), the truth is that the clip predates her wedding to Hunter. Lenee used the moment to highlight her journey over the past six months, attributing her transformation to her faith.

“I wish I could go back and hug December me,” Lenee wrote in the caption. “Because oh baby, God was about to change your heart in the most important and beautiful way. I don’t even recognize this girl anymore. The amount you can grown and develop in just 6 months of devoting your life to Jesus and getting away from the shackles of the world and social media is truly astounding. I wish the peace I found within Jesus on everyone who reads this. ❤️ Your identity in him matters, not how people choose to perceive you.”

The video features a voiceover from pastor and motivational speaker T.D. Jakes, who says, “The greater the glory the more intense the story, because you can’t get this all out of a book.”

Lenee took a social media break last year after intense scrutiny over her relationship with Hunter, who defended her against public criticism. The couple has largely stayed private since, aside from their Tennessee wedding on May 24 and Hunter’s recent purchase of a $3.275 million home in Jacksonville’s Deerwood Country Club.

Despite the online chatter, Lenee recently reemerged on social media, attending her first event with the other Jaguars wives and girlfriends while continuing to support Travis Hunter’s rookie season.
