Katt Williams is set to trade arena stages for fairways as an on-course correspondent for PGA Tour Live at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis.

He’ll be on the green reporting live with ESPN analyst Michael Collins, adding commentary during the opening leg of the 2025 FedExCup Playoffs. Williams previously teamed up with Collins for a few holes at the 2024 Tour Championship; this assignment marks an expanded role aimed at introducing a new audience to the PGA Tour.

A surprisingly dedicated golfer, Williams says his official 19 handicap doesn’t reflect how he actually plays. He notes the handicap dates back to when he tore his rotator cuff.

“I came in as a 19 handicap, but I shoot low 80s,” he said to The Hollywood Reporter, who spoke with the comedian exclusively about his upcoming golf gig. “You certainly don’t want to bet me! Eighty-three is a good and gettable score for me all across the country at excellent courses.”

For Williams, golf serves as a framework for developing a strong mindset and momentum. “The thing that I like about golf is that it permeates so many different parts of your life,” he further explained to the outlet.

Williams will be on-course Thursday, Aug. 7, and Friday, Aug. 8, beginning at 9 a.m. ET, following a marquee group. PGA Tour Live streams on ESPN+, with additional live streaming of the FedEx St. Jude Championship available on Peacock. Tournament coverage continues through the weekend.

The FedExCup Playoffs are the PGA Tour’s season-ending, points-based postseason that began in 2007. The top 70 in the standings qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship, 50 advance to the BMW Championship, and 30 reach the Tour Championship. The overall winner claims a $10 million bonus, with $100 million distributed across the field.
