Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa just turned a tidy profit on his South Florida real‑estate play, closing the book on his Davie retreat for $2.6 million.

According to The Real Deal, the 2020 first‑round pick scooped up the five‑bedroom, four‑and‑a‑half‑bath spread at 10972 Pine Lodge Trail for $1.7 million shortly after signing his rookie deal.

The 5,076‑square‑foot residence sits on nearly an acre of lakefront land inside the guard‑gated Grove Creek enclave. Beyond the tropical landscaping and circular motor court, the home opens to soaring ceilings, a chef’s kitchen dripping in marble, and a sun‑splashed great room built for South Florida’s perpetual summer. Pocket doors disappear to reveal a resort‑style backyard complete with an infinity‑edge pool, spa, and covered patio big enough for the entire offensive line.

Tagovailoa first floated the property in April with a $3 million ask, tapping Coldwell Banker standouts Jon Mann and Danny Hertzberg of the Jills Zeder Group to run point. The buyer remains anonymous until the deed is recorded in county records.

Any time a franchise quarterback lists his primary address, speculation spikes. The Miami Dolphins handed Tagovailoa a monster four-year, $212.4 million extension in summer 2024. However, rumblings about his future haven’t completely died down thanks to a well‑documented concussion history and the league’s relentless churn. The Athletic recently floated scenarios in which the cap‑tight Dolphins stumble and pivot toward a reset in 2026, potentially dangling Tagovailoa to a QB‑hungry club rather than eating a record‑setting $79 million dead‑cap hit.

For now, the move feels more lifestyle than exit strategy—think clearer commute to the team’s soon‑to‑open Miami Gardens facility (Davie is in Broward County, about 30 minutes north of the Gardens without traffic), or simply cashing in on a hot housing market.

Either way, Dolphins fans will be watching just as closely as they monitor every training‑camp Instagram post.
