Michael Phelps Agrees to Teach Baltimore Ravens Players How to Swim
The Olympian agreed to teach Baltimore Ravens players how to swim after a request from Marlon Humphrey.
They say it's good to learn from the best ... so why not ask the world's most decorated Olympian of all time to help teach you how to swim?
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey took to social media to ask Michael Phelps to help him and his teammates with swimming lessons. While the request might seem random, Phelps is actually a Baltimore native and a huge Ravens fan.
Humphrey captioned his video, "Hey Michael Phelps, we need your help!" The video shows Humphrey and his Ravens teammates Ronnie Stanley, Kyle Hamilton and Charlie Kolar waist-deep in a pool, where they reveal one in three Ravens players don't know how to swim. Humphrey requests of Phelps, "Come to Ravens' training camp in this beautiful aquatic center and teach us how to swim."
Lucky for Humphrey, Phelps saw the video and agreed, responding, "I got yall!!! Let’s do it!!" Unclear when the lessons will happen, but it's certainly a good start.
Phelps certainly has the background to help the team out—he's the most decorated Olympian of all time with the record for most medals won (28) and the most gold medals too with 23.
The Ravens are considered one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl this season, behind the Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills. The Ravens have not made the Super Bowl since 2013, when they beat the San Francisco 49ers, so any change to the team's offseason routine could be a nice benefit.
The team's facilities recently underwent a massive overhaul, with upgrades made to team lounges, gyms, and the pool.
Funny enough, Kolar revealed to reporters he didn't think Humphrey was actually going to post the video to Phelps, joking, "I thought it was going to be like a story or maybe sent to him, but I should have known better. I should have known better."
