Luka Doncic Spotted Driving $2 Million All-Electric Hypercar
The vehicle has some serious speeds, reaching up to 258 mph.
Luka Doncic is getting around this offseason in style, spotted cruising around in a $2 million hypercar.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar was captured on video in the driver's seat of a Rimac Nevera. The whip is all-electric with a starting price of $2.2 million.
In the video, Doncic is taking things nice and slow considering the vehicle has a top speed of 258 mph and can hit 0-60 mph in just 1.74 seconds, according to the manufacturer.
The Nevera is powered by four independent electric motors—one at each wheel, with 1,914 horsepower.
Unclear if Doncic bought the hypercar, or if he was just taking it for a spin. It's also unclear exactly where the video was taken, though it's likely from Croatia. Doncic's been practicing with the Slovenian Men's Basketball team overseas ahead of the EuroBasket championship.
It's been quite the summer for the NBA star, he recently appeared on Today where he discussed his noticeably slimmer figure. Doncic was asked if he used Ozempic or any other weight loss shots to achieve his fitness goals, but was quick to say it was all diet and exercise.
Doncic revealed his team totally transformed his offseason regimen to help him get in the best shape possible. Also telling Today anchors he gave up playing basketball for an entire month in order just to focus on workouts.
While it might be unclear if he actually bought the hypercar, he's certainly got some extra money to throw around. Doncic signed a max extension with the Lakers only a few weeks ago. The deal is for three years and $165 million, ensuring his place in the Lakers' future as the team will look to build around the young star.
Doncic was joined by several of his Lakers teammates to announce the extension. Notably, LeBron James was not in attendance for the announcement as speculation continues to grow around his future with the team.
