Lions Troll Jets, Play "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd During Geno Smith Announcement
Lions troll Jets, play "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd as players are introduced.
The Detrout Lions beat the New York Jets in preseason NFL action 23-3 on Thursday, but that was hardly the most interesting thing to come out of the meaningless exhibition contest.
Before the game even started, the game ops folks at Ford Field decided to have some fun at New York's expense, and took a little shot at Geno Smith once his name was announced.
Smith, of course, is out 6-10 weeks after suffering a broken jaw at the hands of a former teammate during a locker room altercation.
Not a bad job by the Lions, here, although I prefer teams taking a more subtle approach. The New York Knicks, for example, used to play the opening notes of Kanye's "Runaway" as the visiting team's players were introduced.
