Jay-Z Reportedly Bets $1 Million on Oklahoma City Thunder Winning NBA Finals
OKC lost 110-111 to the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 on Thursday.
Jay-Z is betting big on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
TMZ reports that the music mogul placed a huge wager on OKC to win the NBA Finals in five games against the Indiana Pacers.
Hov apparently put down a $1 million bet with Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Sportsbook—and if he wins, he’ll make $2.3 million, in addition to the million he initially bet. That means Jay stands to make $3.3 million.
But Thunder does have to win the finals in five games against the Pacers, in the best-of-seven series. While the Oklahoma City team is favored to win, they lost in Game 1 on Thursday night by just one point, with the Pacers winning 111-110.
If Jay loses the $1 million, it’s no biggie. The 55-year-old is worth $2.5 billion as of 2023, per Forbes.
Jay has recently taken an interest in the gambling industry. Last September, Rubin joined him in celebrating the grand opening of a new Fanatics Sportsbook location on the Atlantic City boardwalk in New Jersey.
The year prior, in 2023, Jay also placed full-page ads in multiple publications, explaining why he wanted to open a casino in New York City’s Times Square as a joint venture between Roc Nation and Caesars Palace.
