Shedeur Sanders has been selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the NFL draft.

The league announced the news on Saturday.

The announcement arrives after a prankster called the 23-year-old and pretended to be from an NFL team after Sanders was, to the surprise of many, not chosen in the first round of the draft.

A clip shows the former quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes—who is also the son of Deion Sanders—surrounded by family, friends, and cameras as he receives the call. When someone asks Sanders what the person on the phone said, he responds, “He said, ‘You’re going to have to wait a little longer.’ It’s 50/50.”

Everyone seemed a bit confused. Someone else can be heard saying, “Nobody got this number, though,” to which Sanders responds, “It’s a private number.” Another person then says, “What the fuck was that?”

Rather than attend Thursday’s draft in Green Bay, Shedeur opted to spend the day with his family and friends in Texas. To celebrate the occasion, Sanders wore an insanely iced-out chain featuring his Legendary logo.

Earlier this year, Sanders explained why he wanted Draft Day to be convenient for his family.

"The only thing with going to the draft is I want to spend those moments with my people," he said on an episode of the 2Legendary podcast. "It was a team thing, and it was a team of people that helped me get to where I am now. So I want to be able to make sure I’m able to enjoy that with everybody.”
