Stephen A. Smith Says His Net Worth Is 'Not Really' Far Off From $25 Million
Last year, it was rumored the veteran host had signed a 5-year ESPN contract worth at least $100.
Stephen A. Smith’s career as a sports television personality has been lucrative, but what is his net worth?
On the latest episode of 360 With Speed, the First Take host sat down with Speedy Morman, who asked if his net worth really is $25 million, as per a recent Google search.
When Smith said, “no” around the 31:20 minute mark of the video above, Speedy asked if it’s far off, to which Smith responded, “Not really.”
“So it’s pretty close?” Speedy asked.
“Not that close," Smith said. "But we’ll see. It’ll be more soon. According to Smith, his net worth will increase “a lot sooner” than five years.
Perhaps the veteran host is alluding to recent talk of his new ESPN contract, which was reported to be at least $100 million for five years. Back in September, he addressed the rumors on Who's Talking to Chris Wallace.
"I'm not getting specific as it pertains to numbers, because only a fool discusses his own negotiations while negotiating," Smith told the host. "I would ask, respectfully, pay attention to the industry, see what people are getting paid. See how much money they're making and what they're bringing to the table.”
He added, “I'm fully aware of what I'm worth, and I will never apologize to that for anybody."
Similarly, when Speedy asked about the rumored contract, Smith responded, “No comment.”
