Fans React to Tom Thibodeau Reportedly Being Favorite to Land Knicks Coaching Job
A decision on who will be New York Knicks' next head coach is expected to be made within the upcoming weeks, with Thibodeau and Kenny Atkinson on the shortlist.
The New York Knicks are looking to start a new chapter after years of losing, and Tom Thibodeau reportedly tops the list of potential head coaches to lead the team moving forward
Sources told The Athletic's Mike Vorkunov and Shams Charania on Wednesday that New York is starting its search for a new play-caller and that the team has its eyes set on the former Timberwolves coach.
After David Fizdale was fired by the Knicks early into the season, Mike Miller was promoted to the interim head coach position. Reports then started to surface that Thibodeau would be a favorite to replace Miller if the Knicks decide to move on from Miller.
Thibodeau is a defensive-minded coach whose style of coaching often clashes with his players. It's no wonder many Knicks fans seem to have mixed feelings about the potential hire—especially since the team has an opportunity to draft a scoring machine LaMelo Ball to join the offensively-minded young star RJ Barrett.
