Jets Reportedly Willing to Offer Kirk Cousins 'Whatever it Takes' to Sign Him
The Jets are reportedly willing to go all in to land Kirk Cousins as their quarterback.
As reported by ESPN's Rich Cimini, the New York Jets are open to parting with a massive, but non-specific amount of dough, (called "whatever it takes") to sign Kirk Cousins. I suppose those are the lengths you're willing to go if your other quarterbacking options at the moment are Bryce Petty, Joel Stave or Christian Hackenberg.
According to Cimini, the Jets want Cousins "badly," which you probably already guessed, and they believe their biggest challenge will be convincing the veteran QB that the team around him won't completely suck. As Cimini writes:
Cousins would appear to be the most coveted free agent quarterback who's actually going to test the market (at least, if the Redskins don't slap him with the franchise tag for the third time). And if NY misses out on him then they'll probably go with a "fallback option" in the form of Case Keenum/Tyrod Taylor, resign the soon-to-be 39-year-old Josh McCown, or go the draft route which has not worked out so well for them in recent years.
