Colin Kaepernick Reportedly Scheduled to Work Out With the Las Vegas Raiders
After not playing in the NFL since 2016, quarterback Colin Kaepernick is scheduled to work out with the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday, ESPN reports.
League sources are reporting that Colin Kaepernick is scheduled to work out with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to ESPN. Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial injustice in 2016.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports league sources as saying that the Raiders will be hosting the QB for a workout this week, making it the first workout that Kaepernick has done with an NFL team since visiting the Seattle Seahawks in 2017.
While much of the narrative around the QB was that he would be a distraction in the locker room because of his protests, Kap joined I Am Athlete where he revealed that his teammates voted him “most courageous and inspirational player” back in 2016.
“That 2016 season, my last year, my teammates voted me most courageous and inspirational player,” he said. “So, when you’re talking about the people that are in the building, that has never come out that I’ve been a distraction. That’s never come out that I’ve been an issue for the people I’ve played with.”
Kaepernick also shared in the interview that his ultimate goal is to return to the NFL and win a Super Bowl.
