Ayesha Howard, Who Has Child With Anthony Edwards, Responds to 'Gold Digger' Accusations

Ayesha Howard, who shares an infant daughter with Anthony Edwards, has squashed accusations on social media that she's a "gold digger."

On Wednesday, a rumor circulated that the Minnesota Timberwolves guard requested to pay Howard a lump sum of over $1 million, said to equal 18 years of child support.

Last October, Howard, 38, and Edwards, 23, welcomed their daughter, Aubri' Summers, and now the parents' tension has boiled over on social media. Edwards reportedly has three children with three different women, including his girlfriend of five years, Shannon Jackson.

Howard denied the allegations about child support in her Instagram Story on Wednesday.

"Where do these lies be coming from,” she wrote, according to The Shade Room. "You ever heard a rumour [sic] about yourself and actually wanted to hear more Like no way…… what did I do next?"

Howard also denied that "court documents, motions, or proceedings that have occurred" and stated that she has not been "offered or agreed to such terms."

Having enough of the rumors, Howard posted a clip on her Instagram Story and said she's been treated unfairly.

"I came into this situation with a status because I have a child by a very successful artist, right?" Howard said, referring to Lil Baby, 30. "From then, I am viewed as a certain type of woman because I am beautiful and have a nice body and normally women like that attract a certain caliber of men, which is also not my fault."

"And now that I am in yet another situation where I now have a child with another successful man, there is no telling you guys that I am not a gold digger," she continued.

Howard, who's an entrepreneur, vocalist, and brand ambassador, then went on to throw shade directly at women who've criticized her, although men have also attacked her on social media.

"What if I came to y'all's pages, right?" she said. "And I compared the men that you have children with to the men that I have children with and I said, 'You were digging for poverty when you picked him to be your baby daddy, weren't you?' Or, 'You kept that baby for an extra income tax credit, didn't you?'"

Howard referred to women relying on welfare and Section 8 housing assistance programs and said that if those remarks were "triggering," she feels similar pain when it comes to her daughter.

"That's how I feel every time someone says, 'Do you even love that baby? You kept that baby for a check,'" Howard said.

In December 2023, another woman, Paige Jordae, accused Edwards of demanding that she get an abortion after showing him a positive pregnancy test. In alleged texts shared to social media, per People, Edwards offered her $100,000 to have an abortion.

Edwards later addressed the messages on X, formerly Twitter, saying he made those "comments in the heat of the moment" and that they weren't a reflection of him.

"All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them," he said.
