Joe Johnson Isn't Having Very Much Fun in Brooklyn Anymore
Sad Joe Johnson is sad
The Brooklyn Nets are bad. You probably know this already, and the Nets certainly do too. Once they bought out point guard Deron Williams this offseason, it was essentially a waving of the white flag, no matter how poorly Williams played last season. After getting beat down at home today by the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Nets record sits at a dismal 7-20, second only to Philadelphia in the East in terms of awfulness.
Joe Johnson, one of the last remaining players from the Nets' spending spree in 2012, isn't having much fun anymore. He shot 2-10 from the field in Sunday's loss, and after the game just sounded more sad than angry about how things have gone.
Johnson is making over $24 million this season, so it's hard to feel too bad for the guy, but Brooklyn is a basketball wasteland right now. And he sounds like he knows it.
