Josh Hart has revealed he wasn't supporting Noah Lyles during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics because of his comments about NBA players calling themselves world champions.

On Thursday's episode of the Roommates Show, Hart and New York Knicks teammate Jalen Brunson reflected on the 2024 Summer Games and all the happenings that went down in France. At one point, the conversation shifted to Lyles and his performance at this year's Olympics.

"I feel like for most of these Olympics, I was very patriotic, and I wanted Team USA to win gold," Hart said before Brunson cut him off and tried to help him not mention Lyles during the conversation. However, JB later wanted to know what Hart was going to say and asked him to finish his thoughts.

"But if you were going to continue your statement, what would you have said? If you were going to," Brunson added. Hart replied, "I really wanted him to lose. Damn, I wanted him to lose. I think this was the first time that all of the NBA Twitter banded together and was just hating. I was hating, and I was just like damn, you know what respect. I can't even hate anymore."

The track and field star walked away with a gold and bronze medal in the 100-meter final and the 200-meter dash, respectively. The U.S. men's basketball team also won gold when they beat France in the final game of their competition.

Lyles had drawn the ire of fans even more when Time magazine published an article that contained comments he made about attending an Adidas event curated for Timberwolves' star Anthony Edwards. According to the article, Lyles turned down the event because of his frustrations with wanting his own shoe.

He later hopped on X to clear up what was said in the article, tweeting, “There is a rumor going around that I did not go to [Anthony Edwards’] shoe release because he didn’t deserve it. That is not the case he definitely deserves his shoes he is an amazing player. The problem was finding time based on my prior engagements. Congratulations on Becoming an Olympic champion!”
