Ohio State, Michigan Players Brawl Post-Game After Flag Planted on Buckeyes Logo
Players and photographers were pepper sprayed in the melee.
A massive fight broke out between Ohio State and Michigan players after their highly anticipated game on Saturday.
Following the huge 13-10 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes in Ohio Stadium, players from the Michigan Wolverines cheer squad ran on the field with their team flag and tried planting it on the Buckeyes logo at midfield.
Michigan defeated Ohio State for the fourth straight year, and the Buckeye players didn't take a liking to the flag stake: Ohio players confronted their rivals, which caused the brawl to break out.
Footage from the incident shows both teams in a scuffle at midfield, as well as players and photographers getting hit with pepper spray. At one point, police formed a wall at the 50-yard line to try and restore order.
Ohio State's Jack Sawyer removed the flag after the scuffle, while Michigan's Kalel Mullings claimed during an interview that the other side was being sore losers.
“At the end of the day, some people gotta learn how to lose," he said.
Because of the loss, Ohio State, which is now 10-2 on the season, will miss the Big Ten Championship game against Oregon if Penn State or Indiana wins on Saturday. If both teams win, Penn State will face Oregon. However, Ohio State will still have a chance to be in the College Football Playoff.
Michigan, on the other hand, will end its season with a 7-5 record and won't be making a conference game or the College Football Playoff.
